Carolyn received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Huntington University’s Townsend Institute. During that time, she trained under Dr. John Townsend, a nationally recognized clinical psychologist and New York Times best-selling author. She also completed internship placements in several settings equipping her with a variety of effective treatment approaches. Prior to graduate school, Carolyn attended Cedarville University graduating with academic honors and was recognized by the Ohio Psychological Association for her undergraduate research in eating disorder characteristics among high school athletes. She also competed in Track & Field and Cross Country at Cedarville and contributed to the team’s success at the conference and national level.
Carolyn has worked in a variety of different settings including a community-based substance use disorder treatment program, a lay counseling program, and an outpatient individual therapy practice. She has years of experience in private practice providing individual therapy for adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, life transitions, and depression. Carolyn also specializes in treating eating disorders among athletes.
Beyond her clinical work, Carolyn has led mental performance workshops for runners and has served as the mental performance coach for a Division I collegiate Cross Country and Track & Field program. Additionally, she provides individual services to support athletes in improving their mental performance skills and developing a mindset that fosters excellence in sport. Further, Carolyn has also been the lead writer and developer of two mental health curriculums for teens.
Carolyn is passionate about helping her clients develop the self-awareness and courage needed to create lasting change in their lives!
Carolyn’s love for running has created opportunities for her to compete at both the collegiate and professional level. Her husband is a former college teammate turned life teammate. In addition to running, Carolyn loves hosting friends and family from near and far, working on their “mini-farm in the making”, and creating daily memories with her husband, young son, and miniature dachshund.
